Mathematical modelling of Banana Black Sigatoka Disease with delay and Seasonality

Black Sigatoka Disease, also called Leaf Streak Disease (BLSD), is caused by the fungus Mycosphaerella fijiensis and arguably one of most important pathogens affecting banana plantain industries. Theoretical results on its dynamics are rare, even though theoretical descriptions epidemics plant diseases valuable steps toward their efficient management. In this paper, we propose a mathematical model describing BLSD or leaves within whole field plants. The consists system periodic non-autonomous differential equations with time delay that accounts for incubation ofM. fijiensis’ spores.
